The Spell System here is quite different than most everywhere else. Spells do not just come to the caster with levels . Spell shops are spread around the world, and the Caster must find the shop and buy the Scroll to 'Study'. Only after a spell has been studied can a Caster use that spell. Spells are in spell groups of four or six spells, three or five of which can be learned and one of which is on Magicite. Not all classes can learn all the spells in a certain spell group. Other means of learning spells are by using Magicite. When a shard of Magicite is being held, it will gain Experience after a battle When the Magicite gains a set amount of experience, the Character will then learn that spell, if his class allows. Mana cost has a small range for each spell with the cost on the spell list being the average cost.

Spell Manipulation

There are three ways to manipulate traditional spells, such as the way they're cast, and what attributes they are governed by.

Utter

Uttering a spell allows a spell to trigger more quickly at the cost of power. This is particularly useful for using set-duration abilties that are not impacted by any particular attribute. (Such as Barrier and Blade Echo) It can also be particularly useful in combat, although due to the fact that a large amount of power is lost in the uttering method, it may not be worthwhile to use in dire situations. Some spells cannot be uttered, and attempts to use them with utter will simply default to either cast or empower.

Cast

Cast is the most traditional way to use a spell. Spells cast using this method are not modified beyond their own individual abilities and the spell will cost the default amount of time in order to cast. This is faster than empower spells, and stronger than utter effects, granting a balance between speed and function.

Empower

Empower is the slowest method of casting a spell, but increases the power significantly. Because it takes more time to cast, it puts the caster at risk at being disrupted or even killed during the empower process. However, the result of the spell is much greater. Empower is particularly useful when combined with the Magical Earrings relic, and when used with spells that have largely variable effects, durations, or effect amount. (Example: Haste, Bless and Temper)

Governing Attributes

Spells are also frequently effected by Faith and Magic scores as well as Level of the caster and victim, and even the moons Talin'Kal and Loi.
